DIY PROJECT: ROLL WITH ME, TP
You use toilet paper. We all do. There's no getting around it. Unless
you kick it old school and use a corn cob or leaves or even your hand to
wipe. I just threw up in my mouth. That's going a little too green. Anyway. Why not put the empty rolls to good use?
1. Save your flattened rolls. About 7 or 8.
2. Once you've got a nice little stock pile start slicing them up. Many TP craft blogs will tell you to cut the roll into fifths. I just chopped em up into all different sizes. Some big ol fat ones and some skinny mini ones so that there was more textural difference between the pieces.
3. Open your flattened pieces so that they look like petals or little leaves... you know, those things you don't wipe your hiney with.
4. Now this is the fun and infuriating part of the project. Arrange the
leaves on a table or the floor into any sort of design you like. Make
'branches' and/or 'flowers' like this.
5. Rearrange to your heart's content.
6. Now comes the hard/annoying part. You can either staple or glue each piece together. Use Aero Tac (Or any kind of glue). It's an aerosol spray glue that is not only bad for the environment but also your brain cells, so don't go huffin' this stuff.
7. This step will be to hang it on your wall. I haven't done that yet
because I'd still like to add some more leaves. I figure I'll find a
good spot for it and put small pins (like you would used for sewing) in
the wall to hold it up. Please excuse the greasy spots in the last pic.
Stainless steel cleaner does wonders for cleaning Aero Tac off of cheap Swedish coffee tables.
